¿qué iba a entender yo?

Belleza y elegancia eran indispensables.

 My upper lip is wet

And so is my nose

My thoughts are turned on

but my eyes are still closed

Should I open my windows? My lids?

Is it time?

I don't think it is.

• •

A foot searches for an escape

Burrows a tunnel to find fresh air

Oh! Yes! It's there!

An arm from under tears damp covers

feather warmth of a nesting puff

Get off!

Eyes still closed instruct a tired hand

to feel around for the familiar switch on

It's four o four, Oh God!

One leg lifts to catapult the heavy body up

Ready? Set?

One, two, three. Pop!

Both feet feel the fuzzy wool

and quickly step to the cotton beyond

Then across the ledge towards red wood boards

soon into woolen slippers that sail like boats

Into the night

A silent call

To the "inodore"

• •

Gently I float

slipping darkly creaking slats

I rise the plastic lid rose.

I bunch my nightshirt 'round my waist

squatting tentatively, vexing my quadriceps

who silently scream - I don't work this late!

But as they are my slaves,

they finally acquiesce

and lower my body

onto the "toilét"

My Founding Mom Bio

Mother and Grandmotherhood.

I sent out three amazing people into this world: Renie Joie, nurse extraordinaire managing the whole county of Arlington's public health COVID planning and salsa goddess. Avery March, mother of 2 fabulous unique logical and artistic children and teacher fantastique, thoughtfully nurturing new generations of English kindergarteners. Skylr, father of two wild boys, ferocious firefighter and equanimity master. My new daughter Maura, wife to Skylr and loyal, compassionate and determined muse working in ICU for infants.

Anything I do otherwise pales in comparison to my rearing these awesome children, but here it goes.  Among others, these are my prime activities:

Teaching Spanish.

What started on a kitchen table with six children became a school of over 200 students in the San Francisco Bay Area. Today we are taking the experience and playful approach we used in in-person classes to the online world. We can now share without the geographic borders.

Making Movies.

It's a new baby! I want to connect with my country, Venezuela, more and more, so my film-director impetuous Italian husband proposed: why don't we make a movie? I took it and ran with it.  We are making THE movie Cambur Pintón.

Making Music.

I sang in the womb, blob blob blob, since before I took stage into this world.  I have friends, and we play music.  People really appreciate us, and this value turns into money sometimes and others not. : )

San Francisco Sees It First

She spoke with such a stoic demeanor about a condition that could potentially cripple her that I was moved to learn more about her.

I' and m not sure what led me to Yohalis's post, but I landed on her video and heard her speak. Listen to her here

The truth is that I don't know her yet, but she is a true warrior.  If you know what it means to be sick in Venezuela- with little to no resources-, you will understand that every hospital worker and patient is a hero.

I spoke to her mom in Venezuela to ask permission and details about helping them. Through a terrible phone connection, she explained all the medical conditions that her daughter has had since age one- too much to mention!

Yohalis keeps steady in her resolve to get better. She loves Tik Tok and wants to be a doctor, something she knows a lot about!

She is at 15 but looks much younger due to her illnesses that include a bone marrow transplant. Her body is rejecting the external metal piece she currently has. She is determined to get her leg working, preventing an immune reaction that would get her sick, and organizing raffles and her own social media campaign to get $380 for a titanium plate.

I'm going to help her and

I hope you feel motivated to help her too!

All details are below:

She is being treated at J.M. De Los Rios

Her doctor for this procedure:

Francisco J Machado his diagnosis is this

Instrumental Quirúrgico Venezolano C.A., the company that provides the titanium piece,  promised a discounted price of $380 here.

Then,  she needs the different appointments to be accepted in surgery:

Pneumonology $35

Cardiology $50

Neurology $20

TOTAL $485

Didi Twelve on the Twelfth

 She is turning twelve today!

This gorgeous girl is my granddaughter Edita Marie who lives in Henley-on-Thames in the UK.

This summer, I got to see her after a couple of years of hiatus; among other things like canoeing and snorkeling, we went to an Escape Room twice! We did Merlin’s Wizarding Academy and The Hunted Pirate Shipwreck. Woo hoo!

Didi is how we call her, and she is sharp, curious, loves clues and mathematics. I had a great math teacher in high school whose name is Edita too. Coincidence? Not really. She could have been named Edith, which I didn’t love, but I’d felt good with “Edita,” which evoked a Russian model or a math teacher. Hahaha

Her brother Felix and she have a band and their own YouTube Channel and site: https://www.felixanddidi.com. He sings and plays the guitar, and Didi keeps a mean beat (math again!)

She is a fantastic climber, but she may have missed a step. She is supposed to be wearing a sling today on her birthday for possibly breaking her shoulder from a fall at the gym bouldering—more X-rays on the way.

But that didn’t stop her from trying her new Hoverboard (I had to look it up. It’s like an electric skateboard)

Didi has an invite to visit the west coast so let’s see when she will be hopping over the pond!

Happy birthday Didi!

-¿me enseñas a nadar?-

Insistir o preguntar me dió pena.

No lo he olvidado.

Feliz cumple Avy-Baby!

Veinticuatro Millones vs Cuatro Millones

 July 2, 2021

Two Hammocks - Thirty Three Years Apart

Hammock 1988- Posada Punta Cardón, Margarita

Hammock 2021-  Gardnerville, NV

April 28, 2021

We know that this baby was conceived in a perfect little posada where we stayed with the girls perhaps for a whole month. Maybe the name is Punta Cardón,  on a promontory, with an expansive view of the Caribbean Sea and a small pool to cool off.

It is just a place where one dreams of spending more time, where the weather is perfect year-round. One can swim in the ocean every day or sit in the corridor and read, write or paint. Or lay in a hammock and gently sway.

A baby with no name sparked his first moments of life in a perfect environment with love. It was there where his Pristine Blueprint came into being.

Today he turns 32, the same age his dad was when I met him. He looks like him a lot, but he is very different. Since birth, he is a happy boy. He has a demeanor that people envy, his even composure. He is calm and cool in fire or in snow, but Wait! How is he now raising two boys?

That’s a new story. Skylr is being tested with the most difficult challenge; Rydr and Indiana have combined to make or break his dad’s even keel. Maura will need to chime in and tell us who is winning that battle!

Ha, ha, ha, cherish parenthood!

And happy birthday to happy Skylr!

¡rra rra rra!

Besos y apurruños de año nuevo!

Los quiero mucho,

Rennea

December 31st, 2020 05:00 am

Last day of the year, and what fills my heart is GRATITUDE!

I’m sitting on a sofa in a warm and cozy home.

Outside, the moon is full, and the snow blankets everything in white.

Over the table, the leftovers of a delicious dinner and lovely company.

Remains of sauces and condiments, the seashells, the empty bottles. Gone are the oysters, the calamari, the shrimps and delicate octopus tentacles, the rooster salad*, fresh butter, warm bread, and the panettone with mascarpone that really is indescribable. Only Italians can do this kind of exquisite dessert.

I better don’t go into details as I may look like I’m trying to emulate Marcel Proust on “Rememberances Of Things Past.” Skip!

This exaltation is for you, my family and friends, without whom I wouldn’t be who I am.

Even though much of the time I’m in the periphery, meaning, not in the center of in-person meetings,

or, in the case of my family, I’m so far from everyone!

You are always, always, always in my mind and in my heart.

You are the pillars of my rich life. Thanks for being!

If I compared myself to a bee, fluttering around the world, from flower to flower,

you are my beehive, filled to the brim of delicious and nourishing honey, which gives me the strength and the inspiration to keep exploring the world, people, and myself.

Hurray! Hurray! Yay! Yay! yay!

Kisses and hugs of New Year,

I love you,

Rennea

Toad-assana

The Toad is an amphibian.

The Toad is also an experience.

This is about my Toad Adventure

Chapter 1

THE WEEK BEFORE

Below is an excerpt from a letter to my coach after about a week planning my “trip.”

"Hi Tal, I wanted to share with you something that I am going to be doing.

I have come back to SF with a certain confusion wondering, what's next? (this is a usual occurrence when I transition or I return from vacation or have a break)

I have been very reticent to re-start in "work mode" when I feel a little off-balance. I haven't unpacked yet, literally. I am feeling, where do I want to put my precious time and energy?

...

During my musings, lying in bed, talking with friends, I conversed with a very good friend,  who shared his experience using Bufo Alvarius. It's a substance -medicine, sacrament, psychedelic drug, toad, sapito-  derived from a toad's venom.

Immediately I thought: I want to do this. I asked him for a connection.

For years, I have thought I'd like to do an Ayahuasca ceremony or a hypnotherapy regression session, or something that digs deep.  This toad seems to be an excellent method.

For the past few days, I have been learning as much as I can about it; ...  I've watched several rituals being performed, and in the process, I'm getting more excited every day.

...

All this reflection and re-reading Joyous Creation and doing the exercises have brought this out.

ACTION #1- Acceptance of all things

ACTION #2- Recognizing the good

ACTION #3- Make sure I incorporate FREEDOM in all my plans

...

I intend to internalize even more: "We are all one," "we are energy," "there is no duality."

My focus- freedom, peace, and love

What I may want to let go of- judgment, guilt, selfishness.

(I feel selfish even when I am not)

There is one statement that a facilitator quoted:

"Everything will be OK as soon as you are OK with everything."

I liked that.

..

I am discussing this with people close to me.

Renie Joie will be my guardian angel while I am "gone" (there is a loss of consciousness for anywhere between 8 min and 30 min), so she will be there with my two facilitators."

I was thinking of doing a self-guided Vipassana...that was going to be extra hard.  This seemed a good avenue.

Chapter 2

THE DAY BEFORE

these birds
have nothing to do

with my story except that...
I found them under Pattern Integrity- read on

Escribí- Freedom Peace and Love como mi intención.

Chapter 3

HOURS AFTER

I’m sitting on a bench in front of a window overlooking the magnificent sunset over the Pacific ocean.

This is what I see from top to bottom in horizontal planes:

The sky

The sun

The fog

The dunes

The mudflat

The inlet

The mudflat again

The deck of the boat-house

The parking lot

The deck of the house

The window

The bench

The skirt

The notebook

Chapter 4

A DAY LATER

(MIXED WITH THE SECOND DAY LATER)

I'm not going to embellish the experience.- but I already did.

Just the act of writing after is an embellishment itself- a vehicle I use to explain what my feeling-thoughts were.

AQUARIUS PROLOGUE

I had heard other people's stories, and I produced a fantastic flight that went beyond boundaries, adding imagination to others' tales.

I was going on a trip like the Fifth Dimension singing  Aquarius- “When the moon is in the seventh houuuuuuse, and Jupiteeee-er liiiiiies wi-ith maaaa-ars” Please watch the one minute clip- the outfits count to explain what I was thinking!**

**If any of you reading this went to school with me, you know I would sing this song in our school assembly and changed the words to fit our school: "Everyone works together to make Merici (our school) much better and to live in love forever as we learn to live together, Aquarius ..."

TO SWIM OR NOT TO SWIM, THAT IS THE QUESTION

The day was on its way to being warmer, but still coolish.

We were sitting in the sand facing the gorgeous Pacific Ocean

with its glass-top look-of-the-day.

The kind of flat water that invites to swim.

But I was going into another “pool” so the ocean would have to wait for later.

Immersion started as I lay down under the overcast sky.

ALIVE

My experience was very grounded.

I was in touch at all times with my duality:

Me and the world,

and the flies,

and the birds,

and the breeze,

and the sand under my body,

and the welcoming shade.

LOVING KINDNESS

I was facing up.

Fog lifted.

The sun came out.

My helpers shaded me so I’d be more comfortable.

That simple act of kindness opened up a happy-tears faucet in me:

I'm BLESSED!- I felt

my throat tightened,

my eyes swelled up with tears,

my mouth did weird contortions

my first whine came out, like the birth of a baby

I was happy,

moved,

feeling loved,

cared for

and when I’m this happy

I cry.

Roy Lichtenstein knows about happy tears.

PARENTHESES

Substitute bed for Mexican blanket.

If you want a quick recount,

imagine Rennea crying like a baby for 20 minutes on a blanket under the sun.  DONE!

You can skip the rest.

PERMISSION

I felt-saw-imagined* being a turtle and carrying all the weight of the world on top of my already heavy shell.

I wanted, and I thought, and I needed - to shake it off.

It is not my burden to carry.

I am not responsible for this.

I can get rid of this weight.

I was asking permission to take it off.

Do I have permission to do it? Do I?

(Catholic guilt coming through)

All this made me cry, not whimpering but a real-real cry-cry.

I did not look this pretty : )

ANTICIPATION

The Monk By The Sea (1808) Capspar David Friedrich

At the same time, I would be asking myself,

“When will I disappear?”

(Remember, I was expecting to dissolve into the Universe).

“When will the fusion start and I stop being here?”

“Breath breath… It’s coming” I told myself

BATALLA CAMPAL- OPEN BATTLEFIELD

Dead Frog with Flies (1630) Ambrosius Bosschaert II

Instead,

I feel the fly in my upper lip standing and fighting with another fly who wanted the same spot,

probably to drink the little beads of sweat that spring up on my upper lip.

(Those who know me well have seen my sweaty mustache here and there)

ERASE

During the “wait for the show to start,” I felt-saw-remembered* Rennea, the same as you see in the picture above.

There was no image in anything I describe- everything is feelings-thoughts-intuition.  Hard to explain. But for the purpose of my story the picture gives you an idea.

A 10-year-old skinny with long blonde straight hair.  She is, wearing her hot pants and the orange long-sleeve sweater that she loves. The shoes have a small heel, and that is important. She is happy.

I remembered how happy I’ve been.

I’ve received love always,

all my life, non-stop.

I celebrate this. — more weeping.

Flies are not around anymore.

THEN

I wished for the removal of all her labels or future predictors.  Please archive.

These pointers had their utility, they were a rudder that helped her arrive to where she is today and now she needs some open space.

Sniff sniff!

SURRENDER AND ACCEPTANCE

So I’m still waiting for this non-dimension to occur, and I think:

“Rennea, you are hard to break-in.

Come on! Surrender once and for all!

Remember what Tony said, surrender to the light.”

I almost started to sing: “let it go, let it go!!!” but I never learned that song except for that refrain.

I may sound stupid. (Obviously vanity not erased)

Also, I don’t see that light that Tony mentioned.

no light

I open my eyes and see the feet of my helpers holding the shade over my head, and I say to myself:

“Rennea, Have some compassion, look at them, holding the shade over you. You should just get up, now.”

 And at the same time.

“Rennea, this is your time.  You don’t need to be embarrassed if they are standing and shading you.  You are the queen today. This is your experience. They want to do this for you, and it is all right for you to accept their kindness.  Let it be .... keep crying all you want.”

So I kept crying.

And it felt good.

LOVE

I felt vulnerable, taken care of, loved, and held.

I allowed their gift: The care for me.

(Progress).

Love

Renie Joie caressed my back and I laid my head on her lap.

I saw a bird flying.

The bluest sky.

Perfect balmy coolish northern California coast weather I’ve learned to love.

and of course….

I wept some more

PER SECULA SECULORUM

I never lost consciousness.

It seemed I cried forever.

In front of people

who have no clue what I’m going through.

All the while

I felt safe with them.

I BAPTIZE YOU…

For me, the toad was perfect

I experienced clarity and the release of a great number of tears : )

(and therefore energy)

Re- neé - Rennea - Reborn

It had comparable effects to the Vipassana (10-day silent retreat)

but in just 10 minutes (maybe twenty)

I know the toad will be having a lasting impact.

-

It'll be registered in my list of cathartic/enlighting moments,

with a name coined by Tony-man as

Toad-assana

croak (sound effect)

Hoping that the next time Toad-assanna takes place in

Todasana
